Shelby County Obedience Club is a nonprofit organization whose members share a love of dogs & developing them into better companions. We also offer beginner obedience classes for the pet owner as well as conformation handling classes for handlers & their conformation dogs.


For SCOC members, classes are also offered in competition obedience, agility, rally and tracking. In addition, individual members participate in herding, hunting, earthdog, lure coursing, therapy, schutzhund & other assorted dog sports.

The Next Public Beginner Obedience Class Registration
will be on Sunday Oct. 26th, 2025 at 3:00 pm until 4:30pm.
Classes will start on Tuesday Oct. 28th, 2025 at 7:00pm.

The next Public Novice Rally Class and Member Inter/Adv Rally Class
will be on Saturday Oct. 4th. Registration is day of class.
Novice at 10:00 am and Inter/Adv at 11:15 am.

The next Public Agility Ob-Fam I Class and Member Ob-Fam II Class
will start on Monday Oct. 6th, 2025. Registration is day of class.
Ob-Fam I at 7:00 PM, Ob-Fam II at 8:15 PM.

SCOC Vaccination Policy
 
1. All dogs must have had the following vaccinations or yearly  boosters:
A. Rabies.
B.  Parvovirus series (Sometimes shown as the ‘-P’ in DHLP-P).
C.  DHLP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza).
2.  It is recommended, but not required, that all dogs have Intra-trac Bordetella and Corona.
 
Note:  The shot records will be checked at registration and without the required shots – no dog will be allowed to take a class.

SCOC Bad Weather Policy
 
Meetings and/or classes can be canceled due to bad weather. 
 
The weather shall be considered as BAD if the PUBLIC SCHOOLS (Memphis and/or Shelby County) have been closed due to the weather conditions.
 
Unless notified otherwise: classes will meet on the regular class day of the next week and be extended by the class missed, and club meetings will meet on their regular day on the following week.
